About
The club was purchased in May 2007 by Ernie Salazar. Ernie started as the Fitness Manager in January of 2006. He then took over as the General Manager in July 2006 and continued in that role until the recent promotion of Amy Grandpre, a long time member of the NPAC family.
Just like our members and staff, Ernie has a special connection with fitness, health and wellness. He has played many sports throughout his life and Ernie is a ten year veteran of the U.S. Army. In July of 2003 he was diagnosed with Early Stage 3 Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma (NHL), a blood cancer, at the age of 28. It was his determination and many years of physical and mental conditioning as well as Army training that attributed to his recovery and continued clean bill of health.
No matter what your current activity level is, what challenges you may have had or currently have physically , the professional and courteous staff at the Newbury Park Athletic Club will do whatever it takes to help you to reach your goals. We will do this safely and realistically based on your individual needs. The Bottom Line Is:
We don’t show you how to use a couple of machines and let you go out on your own. We don’t count reps and watch as you do cardio. We will look at how your body is working, create a customized plan and show you how to execute that plan while fixing the imbalances that life has thrown at you.
